Real Voices of Instructors

We have a variety of instructors at our school.

I would like to introduce not only the technology but also the inner charm of the company.

We interviewed some of our current active instructors!

I think this will be helpful for those who are interested in becoming an instructor or want to become an instructor.

Please take a look at what our instructors have to say.

Taro Makino  [ Instructor for 9 years, in charge of park and groundtrick lessons]

Q. What made you want to become an instructor?

In order to continue enjoying snowboarding for a long time, I wanted to put what I had been doing just for fun into practice, and after taking the badge test, I was able to open up the path to becoming an instructor.

Q. When do you feel the most satisfaction or joy from being an instructor?

This is definitely a moment when customers are happy.

The best moments are when a customer overcomes something they couldn't do before or learns something new and we can share that experience together and enjoy it together.

Q: What are your goals for the future?

I want to enjoy snowboarding, not compete in competitions.

I don't think that if you work as an instructor but don't love snowboarding, you won't be able to convey the joy.

Q. Message to those who want to become instructors

This is something I experience every day, but I've heard that you learn more if you try to teach others, rather than studying for a test. In other words, making an effort to teach others about snowboarding will be the fastest way to improve yourself.

Miho Kodera  [ Instructor for 6 years, from Kagoshima Prefecture]

Q. What made you want to become an instructor?

Since I'm from Kagoshima, there are hardly any people around me who snowboard, so I wanted to have friends to snowboard with. One day, I suddenly realized, "If I can teach, I can make more friends!" and decided to aim for the path of an instructor.

Q. When do you feel the most satisfaction or joy from being an instructor?

The moment when a customer is happy is what makes me happiest! When I hear a first-time snowboarder say, "I want to do it again!" or "I want to snowboard more," or when someone who can already turn changes their snowboarding style, I feel happy together with the customer. It's a really happy moment.

Q: What are your goals for the future?

My goal from now on, or rather, my goal for the rest of my life, is to convey the joy of snowboarding. There are many ways to enjoy snowboarding, such as carving, gliding through powder, doing freestyle tricks, and playing on walls. However, I think that what is fun varies from person to person, so I want to convey the way of enjoying snowboarding that suits each person. However, in order to do that, I first need the skills to convey them, so I am aiming to further improve my own skills!

Q. Message to those who want to become instructors

Even if you say "instructor", it is often vague and difficult to imagine. I myself was also quite vague about what kind of life I would be living. So, if you have any questions or concerns, it would be a good idea to first inquire and start by resolving various concerns.

We look forward to your questions about how to work, how to spend your time, time work, etc.!

If you are unsure, please consult us first!

Rina Sugiura  [ Instructor for 4 years, responsible for group lessons]

Q. What made you want to become an instructor?

I was snowboarding as a hobby, and then an acquaintance asked me if I'd be interested in being an instructor, so I thought, "Well, maybe I'll give it a try." That's what got me started.

Q. When do you feel the most satisfaction or joy from being an instructor?

I often work with people who are snowboarding for the first time, and it's the moment when a customer who didn't even know how to put on their snowboards is able to snowboard by themselves and says, "Snowboarding is fun!"

Q: What are your goals for the future?

Further growth!!

I want to spread the joy of snowboarding to people who have never experienced it before!

Q. Message to those who want to become instructors

This is great for people who love snowboarding and want to spread the joy of snowboarding, as well as for people who want to improve their own skills!

Kyoko Kobayashi [ Instructor for 4 years, responsible for group lessons]

Q. What made you want to become an instructor?

I've been snowboarding on my own, so when my friends asked me to teach them, I couldn't teach them at all. I felt frustrated at that time, and I wanted to learn the basics so I could teach them!

Q. When do you feel the most satisfaction or joy from being an instructor?

When they say it's easy to understand, or when I see them trying their best to snowboard even after the lesson is over. When they call out to me with a smile, "Teacher!" even outside of the lesson. When I teach them the knowledge to snowboard safely. (Especially to beginners.)

Q: What are your goals for the future?

As an instructor, I want to improve not only my own skiing skills, but also my ability to communicate. I want to be able to convey the joy of snowboarding even more!

Q. Message to those who want to become instructors

By teaching a variety of people, I can expand my knowledge as an instructor, so I can grow and feel a sense of accomplishment! Furthermore, by talking with other instructors, I can learn something new, which I can use next time and which also leads to my own confidence, so it's very rewarding!
